Salary Management project in C/C++.

This is a first time implementation of the salary management function of an organization in software. The main objective of the project was to demonstrate the usefulness of moving the whole employee related information to a software. To demonstrate the usefulness we selected a self contained module “Salary Management”. It is assumed that the organization in consideration is managing the employee records in a manual way storing information in paper files. The two major considerations for this project were the programming language and the design methodology. Salary management module in itself is a small portion in a large Human Resource Information System (HRIS). It was assumed that at a future point of time this software will be integrated into a fully developed HRIS. Object oriented design was used to make sure that the design has the proper degree of abstraction and clarity with respect to the module interfaces. This will help an easy integration later. C++ was chosen as the programming language mainly because of the simplicity and easiness of maintenance. We envisaged the organization to be a smaller one. The programs written in C++ tends to be more compact and resource friendly (less memory and processing power) than many other later generation languages.
